Once again, the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has ranked among the top pediatric hospitals in cancer according to U.S.News & World Report.
“It is an honor to be ranked among the nation’s top hospitals in pediatric cancer,” said Bill Woods, M.D., Director of the Aflac Cancer Center and Associate Director for Membership for the Winship Cancer Institute. “Our physicians and staff are committed to providing our young patients a brighter future through advanced medical treatment and innovative research.”
The 2010 edition of “American’s Best Children’s Hospitals” is published online at www.usnews.com/childrenshospitals and will be featured in the August issue of U.S.News & World Report. The 75-page survey was completed by 96 pediatric hospitals, and results are based on reputation, medical outcomes and care-related indicators of quality.
The Aflac Cancer Center treats more than 350 new cancer patients each year and follows more than 2.500 patients with sickle cell disease, hemophilia and other blood disorders.
