Aberrant DNA methylation transcriptionally silences critical tumor suppressor
genes in human cancer. Through the study of model genes, such as Target of
Methylation-Mediated Silencing 1 (TMS1), and CpG islands genome-wide
we aim to understand the mechanisms underlying the establishment and maintenance
of aberrant de novo DNA methylation in human cancers.
